CPP has achieved third party validation under the Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS-70) Type II certification.
SAS-70, a widely recognized auditing standard established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the authoritative guidance demonstrating that CPP has undergone an independent in-depth audit, including testing of CPP's control activities over its payroll services. A Type II report not only includes the service organization's description of controls, but also includes detailed testing of the service organization's controls.
SAS-70 continued endorsement helps provide credible proof to CPP customers that their critical data is secure using CPP services. The recognition of CPP's world-class solutions supports its ongoing commitment to provide operational excellence with the highest levels of security and reliability. With each new independent endorsement of CPP products and services, CPP continues to reassure our customers that CPP can scale businesses operations with the highest levels of performance, and are committed to keeping services at the forefront of industry best practices.
SAS 70 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for management to obtain assertions about service organization internal controls without conducting separate assessments. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls by public companies.
SAS-70 certification for CPP solutions was conducted by MerrittYockey, CPAs from Virginia Beach. CPP selected MerrittYockey to perform the examination because of their vast number of experienced resources with internal controls and SAS 70 expertise.
